I am writing to ask for two Langley residents to join our Civil Service Commission. If you have an interest in service, a care for the integrity of our police department and about two hours of time to spare each month, we would be happy to hear from you.

With Monica Guzman’s retirement from the commission, a vacancy now exists for a Commissioner. Additionally, we need a chief secretary/examiner. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the administrative functions of the commission and ensuring the smooth operation of our civil service system.

Our Civil Service Commission is responsible for reviewing our rules and regulations, ensuring a fair hiring process and administering hearings in the event of a complaint against the department.

Serving on the Langley Civil Service Commission offers a unique opportunity to have a meaningful impact in our community. Your involvement will contribute to the continued fair process of the city’s police department’s operation, fostering trust and accountability.
