Editor,
I am asking for community assistance for Coupeville school children being served by the Coupeville Student School Support office. Approximately 150 students are assisted by the School Support Office, including McKinney-Vento children (students “that lack a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence”), the migrant education program and foster care.
The Community Foundation for Coupeville Public Schools is conducting a fundraising drive in conjunction with the Coupeville School Student Support Office for the April 27 Spring Resource Event to raise $7,500 to pay for summer sports equipment, educational activity books, early learning kits, footwear, starter books, bilingual learning aids and tuition to existing community summer activities.
The foundation is asking for community donations through its Facebook page, or funds and monetary donations can be sent/delivered to the Coupeville School Support office, attn Arianna Bumgarner at 501 S. Main St. Coupeville WA 98239. Email questions can be directed to abumgarner@coupeville.k12.wa.us and phone contact is 360 678-2404.
The Coupeville Foundation is a 501 (3)(c) corporation, so donations given through its Facebook funding page or mailed directly to their address at PO Box 1133, Coupeville WA 98239, EIN # 91-1826477 are tax deductible. Website www.4coupevilleschools.org.
Please assist our school children by contributing funds to our Spring Resource event. I can think of no community need more pressing, but yet capable of creating more upward mobility, than donating funds for our Coupeville McKinney-Vento, migrant and foster kids.
