Letter” Promote natural gas, not eliminate it

Editor,

It’s absolutely amazing to me how uninformed many Americans are about the best method of producing energy. The most efficient and environmentally safe method of producing electricity specifically, is natural gas. The attempts to ban it are ludicrous. Natural gas is clean burning, is abundant in our country, is not harmful to the environment and is our least expensive and most reliable energy source. Contrary to the claims of the uninformed, the CO2 natural gas emits when burned, produces a very clean and necessary source for abundant growth of trees, plants, and crops.

The alternatives produce serious problems and are overall less efficient and more expensive. Solar, in particular, has a limited lifetime, is far more expensive when all aspects are considered, and is primarily sourced from China. Wind farms create hazards to wildlife, both on land and sea. They have a limited lifespan, are expensive to build and maintain, and are an eyesore wherever they’re located.

I’m really not sure of the motives of liberal politicians, and other propagandists like the mainstream media, that support abandoning the use of natural gas, but at best it is nefarious. And, unfortunately letter writers like Heather Haverfield (Aug. 31 letters to the editor) have bought into the lies of the propagandists who are hellbent on destroying our country in so many ways.

I had a 32-year management and executive career with three subsidiaries of a major U.S. energy company and I know the facts. We should be promoting the use of natural gas, not attempting to eliminate it. Our future depends on it.
