Letter: St. Clair advocates for access to health care

Editor,

I am writing to express my support for Janet St. Clair for state Senate because of her commitment to ensuring access to health care for all Washingtonians.

Living in my rural community in Greenbank, access to health care is necessary but not always possible. Janet understands this challenge. As Island County commissioner, she led the charge to prevent the closure of WhidbeyHealth and the Women’s Health Clinic.

High health care costs are a burden on families outside of rural areas, too, particularly on those who are disabled, seniors or living on fixed incomes. Janet has a plan to reduce the cost of prescription drugs which have been on the rise for too long.

By electing Janet to the state Senate, we can be confident that there will be a staunch advocate for health care access and affordability representing us in Olympia.

I urge my fellow Washingtonians to join me in supporting Janet St. Clair for state Senate. Together, we can elect a leader who will fight tirelessly to ensure that everyone in Washington has access to the quality health care they deserve.
