It is with the deepest gratitude that I extend heartfelt thank yous to all the wonderful community members who attended the Julie Langrock Memorial Scholarship fundraising dinner on May 23 and who gave so generously to this worthy cause.

Thank you to Rustica for hosting the event and to Mercedes and her team for the fabulous food and service.

Thank you to Broken Banjo for donating their time to play great music—Larry Mason, Deirdre Fairfax and Kevin Johnson, you literally rock!

Thank you to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Island County team—Tiffany, Sarah and Grayson, you made my job so easy.

Thank you to the Langrock family for being there and for sharing reminders about what an amazing person Julie was and how she impacted so many lives as the former BBBSIC Executive Director.

It has been an honor these last three years to chair the BBBSIC scholarship committee that gets to award $2500 scholarships in Julie’s name to island high schoolers who were either a Big or a Little in our program. The organization truly appreciates all who join us in igniting and defending the potential of youth in our community.
