Many thanks to The Record for its wonderful reporting of the Mr. South Whidbey Pageant held on Saturday, Oct. 3. Once again, this year’s pageant was a resounding success. We raised over $31,000 to help our neighbors with unmet medical expenses.

A huge thanks to the 2015 candidates. Along with Frank Parra, our Mr. South Whidbey 2015, all past candidates (John Auburn, Rocco Gianni, George Henny, Randy Hudson, Paul Mathews, Jim Scullin, Gordon Stewart and Nick Welles) agreed to reprise their original talents for this year’s pageant. Our gratitude also goes to our 2015 sponsors, including: Edward Jones in Clinton, Offgrid Systems, Saratoga Dental and Island Home Nursing. We’re also grateful to the people who worked behind the scenes to make the pageant a success. And finally, to our emcee, a very special thanks to Sue Frause.

Most of all we thank you, the South Whidbey community. So far in 2015, we have helped 171 people with over $51,000 worth of medical and dental bills. By opening your wallets, you help us fund our mission. You display the heart that makes South Whidbey the unique and special place that it is.
