I was impressed by the Editor’s Column, Aug. 21, in which Mr. Burnett confessed his shortcomings in proofreading. He even got someone to read over his shoulder, to find and correct his mistakes. That’s a laudable goal. I was not impressed that the “grammatical force to be reckoned with” didn’t catch his mention of “misplaced comas”. Perhaps one or both of these people are victims of misplaced comas, and should be awakened.
