To the editor:
I just recently traveled to several remote eastern Montana towns on vacation. During my journey I noticed that unleaded fuel prices on the mainland and throughout Idaho and Montana ranged from $1.69 to $1.97 a gallon.
Can anyone explain why fuel prices on South Whidbey are approximately $2.35 a gallon?
It certainly can’t be because South Whidbey is so remote.
I have a hard time “buying local” when I can purchase fuel in Mukilteo or Oak Harbor for $1.90 a gallon.
