There are frequent complaints about contractors who do sub-standard work and rip off their clients. Washington state rules for contractors are sub-standard and contain many loopholes that work against the homeowner. But I would like to make a recommendation for a young and highly competent contractor on South Whidbey. His name is Dave Henderson with SOHO Construction.

He did such a fine job in helping us remodel our basement after the incompetent contractor we had previously hired walked away from helping us with a fix. Dave communicates, takes notes of what is wanted and needed, and was always pleasant no matter what circumstance arose. He stayed within budget and even redesigned some furniture pieces with expert precision. The two men he hired occasionally to help were competent, honest and provided quality work. Dave was on site to guide or instruct them as needed.

My husband and I want to give sincere thanks to Dave Henderson for helping to restore our home and providing peace of mind that our basement is finally and securely finished! Lastly, sincere thanks to Colleen Maschmedt for her very kind and helpful guidance and for referring Dave Henderson to us.
