On a Monday morning before Christmas, I went into the post office in Clinton intending to drop off my Christmas cards, which were already sealed and stamped. There was a very long line and I had to pick something up in another place by a certain time and couldn’t wait.

The two ladies in front of me said they would give the cards to the post-master. There were 170 of them in a small bag. When they got to the post-master, it turns out that the cards were slightly oversize and the cost would be an additional $36. They paid it for me.

I do not know these two ladies and it is only by accident that I met them again just as they were leaving the post office. They told me what had happened and they refused to take any money. They left wishing me a merry Christmas and I stupidly did not get their names.

Therefore I hope they see this letter so that I may thank them publicly for their random act of kindness and good cheer.

I indeed will pay it forward, I wish they and all of you had a very merry Christmas. I am so blessed to be here among people of such kindness and good will.
