Editor,

Holiday House opens next week to ensure every child has a chance to experience the joy of the season. Each year a store is created where income eligible families can shop for special toys and gifts for their children. We’d like to thank everyone who has contributed so far by offering to volunteer, bake treats, shop for toys and donate funds.

Each year, Holiday House offers over 300 families, through our two stores, Holiday House South and Holiday House North, the opportunity to shop for new toys, art supplies, grooming items, warm winter gear, games and other fun items. In 2014, 783 local children and youth had gifts to open during their family holiday celebrations, thanks to the generosity of our community.

This holiday season, we invite you to offer what you can to our efforts. We accept new, unwrapped toys, games, sports equipment and other gifts. Many of our local businesses offer items and experiences that are on a child’s list this year. To contribute with funds, please make your check out to: Holiday House, Box 280, Langley, WA 98260. Toys can dropped off at the Coffman Building at the Fairgrounds or at the South Whidbey School District Office.
