To the editor:
The election is over and the choices have been made. We have a new president chosen by majority vote without violence or threat of revolt.
In the past few years I have witnessed letters in the paper, bumper stickers and verbal comments condemning our President Bush.
To those who have maligned our president, I say this: I promise not to denigrate, vilify or in any way caste spurious accusations on our new president. I will not refer to our new president as “that old Obama” or make threats of impeachment.
If the new president does not live up to expectations, I shall be patient for the four years needed to remove this individual from high office and chose another.
As for the Democratic Party who won the election, well, if all else fails and the country doesn’t prosper you can always say, “It’s the Republicans’ fault.”
Barack Obama is my new president of these United States of America and I shall hold him in high regard and respect his position as leader of the free world.
God bless our new president, give him wisdom to lead and keep him safe.
