Local elections matter. Please take the time to become informed and vote for those seeking county offices.

Four years ago, the voters of Island County made what I believe was a less than informed decision, and elected Kelly Emerson as county commissioner. For three and a half years the Island County Board of Commissioners and the citizens of this county suffered through our ill-fated choice.

Now the voters of the county have an opportunity to get it right with Karla Jacks for county commissioner. While Rick Hannold should be commended for his willingness to serve the citizens of the county, when his credentials and experience are compared to those of Ms. Jacks, she is the clear choice for the voters as our next commissioner.

This election, get it right, and vote for Karla Jacks for county commissioner.
