To the editor:

I notice that Freeland Lanes has a “for lease” sign but the loss of Roger Simmons will be the loss of Freeland Lanes. The asking lease price of $5,000 is unreasonable in this marketplace.

I have spent much time helping out and have seen that this business is not a money-making venture and that there are few people that will or can afford to work for less than minimum wage so that others can enjoy a fun and healthy form of entertainment. If Mr. Myer’s is truly interested in keeping the bowling alley as is, he will need to rethink the lease and hopefully work out something with Roger.

I hope that things can work out for us all, but a great thanks to Roger Simmons for his dedication to the community!
