Editor,
Do you remember
last September?
It was hot.
We prayed for rain,
and cooling winds
we never got.
But we’ll remember
this November —
what a clout.
Record winds, drenching rains.
Tree down, power out.
Peanut butter sands,
dinner out of cans —
cold coffee too,
tea that wouldn’t brew.
But we all came through
There is so much for which
we can be thankful.
