I am delighted to read about the new Whidbey book just published and authored by Mary Richardson, Janice O’Mahony and Elizabeth Guss.

These three women are not only talented and “fair of face” but also among the best of Whidbey Island and full of grace.

In 2009, I asked Mary, Janice and Elizabeth to join me as the informal board of directors/advisors for my Skylark Writing Studio in the Bayview Cash Store.

Over the next years the “Larkettes,” as they came to be called, served well in this capacity and I am forever grateful for their support and encouragement and wisdom.

I’m proud to know them and now all of Whidbey can be proud of this beautiful new book.

Congratulations, Larkettes.

I write from my new home in the southern Utah desert where the Skylark will soon spread its wings, or become a Roadrunner.
