Regarding a viewpoint about the Conservation Futures Fund being reduced in the Saturday, Nov. 23, issue — amen.

It is the reason many of us live here, whether recent inhabitants or those who have been here for a long time. I would hope that our governing bodies understand that many of us, if not all, live here for the reasons cited in that article. Take that away/lose it, and our island will no longer be that special place, different from many other places that have taken different paths.

Contact your County Commissioners if you agree — hopefully, they will listen.
