To the editor:

We don’t know how much to thank you for your article on Wednesday, June 11 about the medical surgery in another country.

Well, actually we do know how much to thank you, to the tune of $41,000 that we will save to go out of this country to get Tom’s surgery. We have been saving to have some major surgery done for over a year now. We didn’t even think of getting surgery in another country until I read your article about the couple that went to Panama for the husbands’ hernia surgery.

So I called the couple, the Knickerbockers, and they have walked us all through it and their successful process. They said they would do it again, if they ever had to have surgery. They said they have had many calls from other people wanting to now more about it, just like us.

It is an ideal solution to a less-than-ideal situation. No one wants surgery, but what a way to make lemonade out of lemons!

So we want to thank you, Record, for the great article.
