I know there will be a ton of people who will disagree with me but I also know that there are plenty of people who will agree.

Now, as we all know, we are supposed to “share the road” with bicyclists and I am not trying to say that they don’t have that right, but I am going to say, if you’re going to be on your bike on the road shouldn’t you have to follow and obey the same laws as we do driving a car?

I can’t even count the amount of times that I have seen a bicyclist run a stop sign or fail to use hand signals. Isn’t that illegal? And these are “real cyclists” with the tight shorts and cute little helmets, not the neighborhood kids.

I figure if they are supposed to follow the laws then why are they not getting cited for driving too slowly while they ride in the middle of a road that is posted at 50 mph? I know I have been stopped for driving too slow before.

Aren’t they supposed to be on the side of the road or on the shoulder? Furthermore, why do they have the right to flip us the finger when we pass them because they are slow and in the middle of the road? If they were off to the side of the road, at least on the white line, there wouldn’t be an issue.

Also, if you have the right to be on paved roads then why aren’t you paying for tabs and a registration on your bicycle if you want to use the road? A motorcycle needs to have tabs, registration and a license and they aren’t doing any more damage to the roads than a bicycle.

I’m venting here when I say, “Hey you on the bike wearing your tights, stay to the side of the road and respect the fact that we in our cars actually pay for your smooth comfy ride on a paved road for you.

“You do not have the right to flip me off or yell profanities at me because I pass you.

“I personally take offense to this and there is no reason why my children need to hear your foul mouth.” Thank you and that is all.
