Growing up, I enjoyed some great friends and one was even my “best” friend. Years later, and since moving to Whidbey Island I am grateful for many new and wonderful friends and happily, my wife is my “best” friend. So I feel fortunate. But today I feel very sad. Langley, our fair Village by the Sea which has many extraordinary and generous friends, today, with the passing of Paul Schell, has lost its best friend. I will miss Paul’s vast vision and indomitable optimism, his belief in the greatness of his fellow citizens and his generous and gigantic spirit.
