To the editor:

I believe that it was a great win for our community to come together and save the “Welcome to Whidbey” sign in it’s present location.

I would like to congratulate all involved but especially to Teresa McCoy, who began the process by talking to residents and businesses and starting the push for signatures on the petition. She worked many hours to ensure the petitions were available and distributed to signature gatherers. In the end, it all came together, and Helen Price Johnson and the county made the right decision.
