To the editor:

The board and staff of WISH would like to thank all the great musicians, volunteers, and vendors who worked so hard to put on the first annual WISH-AID.

I would like to give a personal thank you to Cliff Bjork for the use of the Interstate Label site and to Michael and Kris Barker of La Vida Verde who donated 10 percent of their sales for the day, along with the WISH corporate sponsors Whidbey Island Bank, Whidbey Telecom, PSE, Windermere Oak Harbor, Trinity Lutheran Church and Whidbey Coffee who made this a day to remember.

WISH has provided an alternative affordable housing program for the past five years on Whidbey Island. We have served more than 1,500 individuals find homes and or services during this time and hope to help many more in the coming years.

We thank all of the people who generously donated or became members of WISH during our event and encourage you all to please become active in many of the other worthy organizations on our island such as Good Cheer Food Bank, Saratoga Land Trust and WAIF to name a few, we work together to make this a better place for us all to live.
