To the editor:
I recently had emergency surgery at Whidbey General Hospital, performed by the new surgeon in town, Dr. Fru Baheraei, (Dr. Fru as he likes to be called).
There are not enough positive adjectives in the world to describe the whole wonderful experience my family and I had with Dr. Fru and the WGH staff.
Dr. Fru had the knowledge and expertise to realize that my emergent situation could not wait. He informed surgical services of my situation and got the ball rolling. The process took less than an hour to get me admitted, processed through ambulatory surgery and into surgery. The confidence and experience of everyone involved was extremely reassuring.
Dr. Fru treated my family and me with the highest dignity and respect. We all felt as though we were one of his own family members. My daughter says, “Doctor Fru could make your day just by talking to you whether you were in an emergency or not.”
WGH medical staff has gone through some major personnel changes over the past couple years. We, as a community, are very fortunate to have the additions of Fru, Drs. Mike and Amy Picco, to name a few, and, of course, Tom Tomasino, CEO. The board of directors obviously had the insight to regroup and restructure the organization and make additions of administrators and doctors into a community owned hospital that is going to thrive and grow even more with time.
Dr. Fru, my family and I want to personally welcome you to Whidbey Island and we are so fortunate to have you in our lives.
