Letter: Trump chooses more unqualified candidates

Editor,

Even before his presidential inauguration, Donald Trump continues to push for obscenely unqualified nominees to his incoming cabinet, including Kash Patel, who, if confirmed by the Senate as the new head of the FBI, could be Trump’s most dangerous nominee.

Trump could have nominated an FBI director who would prioritize protecting Americans, instead he nominated a MAGA loyalist: Kash Patel, an extreme and deeply unqualified individual whose only qualification is knee-bending, unquestionable allegiance to him over us, the American people.

Patel seeks to divide us instead of unite us. He advocates for rhetoric and policies that foster division rather than constructive dialogue or solutions. Patel lacks the judgment and temperament needed for leadership. And, Patel has no experience managing anything like the FBI, which employs 35,000 employees in 55 field offices throughout the country and more than 60 offices overseas.

CTA: Senators Murray and Cantwell must vote against Trump’s nomination of Kash Patel as FBI director.
