On the passing of Dr. Zaveruha, beloved by his patients and co-workers, a man devoted to his profession and one of the best of us. Kind, down to earth, and available day or night to anyone in need of care. If you had a serious car accident on Whidbey a few years ago, he might have showed up and saved your life by calling in the helicopter to get you to the hospital.

In his flannel shirts and surgery cap he was available and approachable to everyone. A true hero, a gift to his honorable profession and to all of us. God Speed Dr. Z.
