Pres. Obama was born here — get over it | LETTER TO THE EDITOR

In response to Vanetta Turner’s conspiracy-theory rant against President Barack Obama and the questions she raised about his birth certificate, I present the following: In response to inquiries regarding the existence of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, Hawaii Director of Health Chiyome Fukino stated that she and the state Registrar of Vital Statistics had both “personally seen and verified that the State of Hawaii has Senator Barack Obama’s original birth certificate of record showing that he was born in Hawaii.” This statement has been repeated by Fukino in the press and in television interviews.

In response to Vanetta Turner’s conspiracy-theory rant against President Barack Obama and the questions she raised about his birth certificate, I present the following:

In response to inquiries regarding the existence of Barack Obama’s birth certificate, Hawaii Director of Health Chiyome Fukino stated that she and the state Registrar of Vital Statistics had both “personally seen and verified that the State of Hawaii has Senator Barack Obama’s original birth certificate of record showing that he was born in Hawaii.” This statement has been repeated by Fukino in the press and in television interviews.

Over a dozen U.S. courts, including the Supreme Court of the United States, have either dismissed or refused to hear cases that allege President Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate is a forgery.

President Obama did, in fact, release a copy of his birth certificate during the campaign.

An announcement of Barack Obama’s birth was published in the Honolulu Advertiser on August 13, 1961 on page B-6, the fourth ad from the bottom of the left-hand column. The text of the ad read as follows: “Mr. and Mrs. Barack Obama, 6085 Kalanianaole Hwy., son, August 4.”

Oh, and just in case Ms. Turner is wondering, I thought I’d clear up the following conspiracy theories, as well:

The fact that Barack Obama stayed in Room 666 of the Hyatt Regency while campaigning in Colorado is not a sign that he is the anti-Christ.

Barack Obama and his family are Christians, not Martians. No member of Barack Obama’s family was ever apprehended at Roswell or detained at Area 51. That would be Joe Biden.

Michelle Obama did not used to be Michael. She never had a sex-change operation. The fact that she has given physical birth to two children should be sufficient evidence to that fact.

The fact that Barack Obama admits to smoking marijuana as a teenager does not mean that he is a communist. It means that he was a teenager.

Barack Obama is not the reincarnation of Karl Marx. That would be Barbara Streisand.

And no one really saw Elvis last week at Island Recycling.
