To the editor:

I just viewed the movie “Inside Job” which is an award-winning documentary written and directed by Charles Ferguson. I left the theatre in shock and despair, not because I hadn’t already heard many of the details relating to how our financial system finally collapsed (although hearing and seeing the players dig themselves into the mire was quite dramatic).

No, the real shock for me was the realization that President Obama, whom I admire enormously, appointed many of those same players to continue running our financial system.

What is going on? Why must we continue offering carte blanche to our financial system while our children are being undereducated, our mentally disturbed are being turned out on the streets, our infrastructure is falling apart, and working folks are being thrown out of their jobs and homes?
