To the editor:
I must confess to being disappointed with my neighbors during the snowy weather.
Walking from Payless to Mutiny Bay in the snow on Thanksgiving eve, and carrying a small bag, I expected some passing motorist would stop and offer me a ride. No such luck! Were they all so pre-occupied with their own affairs they couldn’t take the time to stop? Or are they so concerned about the “danger” of picking up strangers?
Either way, I lost a little bit of my faith in the friendliness of Whidbey Islanders.
