Deceased singers needed for WICA production

Auditions start at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, Langley, for the December production of “Forever Plaid, Plaid Tidings,” a special holiday edition. The plot: Male singers killed in a car crash in the 1950s return to fulfill their dream of performing in a show that never was. The show requires four men, ages 20 to 35. Be prepared to sing 16 bars of a show tune or ’50s style song and perform two-minute contemporary monologue.

Auditions start at 7 p.m. Friday, July 12 at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, Langley, for the December production of “Forever Plaid, Plaid Tidings,” a special holiday edition. Callbacks are at 4 p.m. July 14. Performers will be singing harmony with others, cold reading from the show, and simple choreography.

“Forever Plaid, Plaid Tidings,” is written and originally directed and choreographed by Stuart Ross; musical arrangements are by James Raitt. The creative team includes Elizabeth Herbert, director; Linda McLean, musical director; and Chelsea Randall, choreographer.
