Clinton business owner begins Whidbey drive to feed Russians
“A Clinton businessman has quietly organized an effort to send food to hungry people in the former Soviet Union this winter.
“Jim’s Clinton Hardware owner Jim Harwell has shipped one carton of food to Russia himself, and several others for friends who have heard about the effort.
“In addition, Harwell is offering to provide the proper shipping container for other interested people and forego his usual handling fee for shipping cartons by UPS.

It’s winter — snow foolin’
“Old Man Winter finally arrived on South Whidbey Saturday afternoon.
“Warm weather kicked him out Sunday morning, but he came back undaunted on Tuesday morning to stay – for about half the day.
“Tuesday’s snowfall was the most significant, dumping two to three inches of the white stuff.”
