Young musicians enrolled in the South Whidbey School District will perform in a winter concert this Monday, Dec. 12 in the South Whidbey High School auditorium.

Students in grades 5-12 are part of the bands. Fifth and sixth grade bands begin at 6 p.m. and middle and high school bands play at 7 p.m. Attendees can participate in raffle baskets.

The middle and high school jazz bands are preparing to compete at the Clark College and Lionel Hampton Jazz Festivals in the new year. The musicians meet three times a week before school to practice.

The South Whidbey Performing Arts Booster supports the band students in their endeavors.

The concert is open to the public.
