Officially, All Hallow’s Eve, better known as Halloween, is Tuesday, Oct. 31.

But there’s plenty of treats all weekend long for little ones and those who wish they still were. And come November, there’s All Soul’s Eve and Dia de los Muertos.

Get out and be ghoulish.

South Whidbey

BOO LA LA at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts (WICA); Friday, Oct. 27 & Sat. Oct. 28.

CLINTON FALL FESTIVAL starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 with a chance to see some bats up close and learn about these mysterious creatures. Families are then invited to stay to do pumpkin carving and decorating, face painting, a wool craft with Cordula Hetland and water color painting with Carla Walsh from 2-4 p.m.

PARTY at Island Nosh & MAKE Whidbey in Clinton; 4-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28. Costumes, patio dancing, food and drink specials, shopping coupons.

WESTERN HEROES perform at Taproom @ Bayview Corner: 8-10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

KRASHZEN AND MYLO perform at Bayview Hall: 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

HAUNTED FAIRGROUNDS at Island County Fairgrounds; 3-8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28.

A VERY CREEPY CONCERT AND CARNIVAL at South Whidbey High School; 6-8:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30: Go for some ghoulish games, freaky fun, and terrifying tunes. It helps raise funds for the South Whidbey Middle School band program.

SPOOKTACULAR LANGLEY in downtown Langley; 2:30 – 5 p.m. Halloween Day, Tuesday, Oct. 31. Enjoy the Trunk or Treat and carnival games, sweet and savory treats and hot cider at the Langley Methodist Church.

HARVEST FESTIVAL at Island Church in Langley; 5 p.m. Halloween.

ALL SOUL’S EVE at Langley Woodmen Cemetery; 5:30 pm Wednesday, Nov. 1.

DIA DE LOS MUERTOS at Whidbey Island Waldorf School in Clinton; 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 1.

North and Central Whidbey

The CATCHING CASPER 5K RUN/WALK is at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at Coupeville Elementary School. Participants wear costumes and then trick or treat upon finishing. $20 per individual or $60 per family. Proceeds benefit the Coupeville High School Class of 2018.

The Halloween TORCHLIGHT will be held later that day in Coupeville. Participants gather at Cook’s Corner Park at 4:45 p.m. for costume judging, then the parade starts at 5 p.m. going down Front Street.

The Whidbey Bicycle Club is hosting two TRICK OR TREAT BIKE RIDES through Fort Ebey. Rides are family and kid friendly. Visit www.whidbeybicycleclub.org for more information.

Sherman’s Pioneer Farm HAUNTED BARN is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on this weekend. Its FARM DANCE begins 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 with live music. Pumpkin patch, trolley rides, hay bale maze and other Halloween harvest events continue.

Oak Harbor’s FRIGHTVILLE at the Roller Barn features a “No Scare” lighted tour of its ghastly “Carn-evil” noon to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28; tickets $4. Its full-fledged 30-minute tour through dark and decorated rooms is open 7 p.m. to midnight on Friday, Oct. 27, Saturday, Oct. 28 and Halloween night, Oct. 31. Tickets $13. No refunds. All proceeds go to the Boys & Girls Club of Oak Harbor; at the Roller Barn, 98 Barron Dive, Oak Harbor.

The Fleet Reserve Association is hosting a KID’S HALLOWEEN PARTY, 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28 at 311 SE 8th Ave. in Oak Harbor. This free event, open to the community, will feature Trunk or Treat as well as grams and other fun.

Oak Harbor’s MIDWAY MONSTER MASH runs 5-8 p.m. Saturday. Get your zombie makeup at Whidbey Playhouse and then travel down to Traders Village for free family fun including music, food, crafts and games.

Businesses at GREENBANK FARM are hosting “No Tricks, Just Treats” 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at 765 Wonn Road, Greenbank.

Free MASK MAKING for children is 2 -5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 28 at The Loft, 715 SE Fidalgo Ave., Oak Harbor. It’s followed by 5 to 9 p.m. Skulpt Too Gallery artist reception and masquerade party. Live music. Public welcome.

Coupeville’s GREAT PUMPKIN RACE will round out the weekend with races happening 2-5 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29 on Alexander Street. The highlight of this free event is a unique side-by-side, single-elimination race featuring handcrafted, decorated pumpkin race cars in a funky, hilarious, suspenseful and dramatic display of American ingenuity.

On Halloween, the Oak Harbor Main Street Association is hosting NO TRICKS SAFE TREATS, 5-7 p.m. on Pioneer Way. Pioneer Way will be closed from Ely Street to Midway Boulevard so it is a safe environment for kids. Participate in the costume contest, tour the haunted school bus, get your photo taken at the Harbor Photo booth and stop by participating store to collect some candy.
