There is still time to cast a vote for your favorite of seven plywood toy soldiers on display in downtown Oak Harbor.

The toy soldiers have been standing sentinel along Pioneer Way and adjacent streets since Nov. 26. They were painted and decorated by local organizations or individuals who donated $40 to the Oak Harbor Main Street Association to participate, and $10 of each donation was given to Toys for Tots.

This year, there are seven soldiers to choose from, on display in front of the “Historic Downtown Oak Harbor” mural on Pioneer Way. Soldiers from past years’ contests have also been set up downtown as part of the city’s holiday decor.

Voting is open until 5 p.m. Dec. 17. Oak Harbor residents can cast their votes at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CGPBWRN.
