The Whidbey Island Youth Orchestra and the Whidbey Island Community Orchestra hold rehearsals at South Whidbey High School.

The Whidbey Island Youth Orchestra is open to young musicians who have the basic musical skills for reading music and who would like to meet, play and perform with other local young people. There are openings for all string players, as well as woodwind musicians. This year there are no auditions or audition fees.

Siri Bardarson will return as conductor.

The Whidbey Island Community Orchestra, under the direction of Chris Harshman, is open to more advanced, high-school-age musicians, with the conductor’s approval, and to all adults.

For information about joining one of the orchestras, call Bill Halstead at 360-320-8905 or email billmvg@gmail.com.

The youth orchestra coordinator is Sheri Kelly and she can be reached at 341-3130 or email james.kelly1@juno.com.
