WhidbeyHealth has welcomed internationally recognized urologic surgeon Dr. Campbell Bryson to the team, and with him, the opening of their new Urology department.
The opening marks a return of care that hasn’t been available locally for many years.
This new department also brings the opportunity to offer the Island community many new services, such as cancer screening and treatment, treatment for kidney stones, no-scalpel vasectomies, sexual health services, assessment and management for urinary incontinence and other bladder-related conditions for both men and women.
“WhidbeyHealth believes that everyone on Whidbey Island deserves local access to high-quality healthcare,” says Dr. Garth Miller, Chief Operating Officer. “We’re excited to have Dr. Bryson join our team of medical professionals and to be able to offer new services to our patients. Island residents will no longer have to travel off-island for their urology-related needs and that is great news for our growing community.”
Meet the Doctor
Dr. Bryson obtained his Bachelor of Medical Science at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada, attended medical school at Cornell University in New York and completed his general surgery internship and urologic surgery residency at Yale, New Haven Hospital. He believes strongly in patient education and supporting his patients in understanding their urological conditions.
“I’m excited to be joining the amazing team of medical professionals here at WhidbeyHealth,” Bryson says. “And I’m grateful to begin working closely with the wonderful community here on Whidbey Island.”
Prior to joining WhidbeyHealth, Bryson worked in a private practice for many years and was the Chair of Surgery and the Chair of Robotics at PeaceHealth St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bellingham. Bryson is nationally recognized for his work in immunotherapy, peyronies disease and infertility, and is internationally known for his work in kidney cancer research. He brings a diverse scope of care to the new department and is excited to use his vast knowledge in the field to better serve his new Island home.
