Angi Mozer, Port of South Whidbey’s finance director, has a new baby and a new job.
Fresh off maternity leave, Mozer was appointed as the interim executive director at a port commissioners meeting Aug. 12 — one day after she returned to work.
“It was pretty straightforward,” said Commissioner Ed Halloran. “Angi was sort of the heir apparent without too much discussion.”
While on leave, Halloran said Mozer was still on top of the port district’s affairs, regularly checking financial reports.
The position is a first for the Port of South Whidbey. Previously, it had a port manager and a finance director as its top administrative jobs. Those were essentially combined into an executive director, which Halloran said is more in line with Washington’s other port districts.
The job will eventually be up for a search, but a date has not been set. Acting director Dane Anderson’s contract expires at the end of August.
