Local delivery ballots for the August primary election were sent in the mail on Tuesday, July 12.
A measure concerning Island County Fairgrounds property ownership and a property tax increase to support it is included in the ballot. Also on the ballot is the race for the state Senate’s 10th Legislative District. The candidates are Angie Homola, D-Oak Harbor, Nick Petrish, D-Anacortes and incumbent Barbara Bailey, R-Oak Harbor.
Ballot drop boxes throughout the county are currently open, and will remain accessible until 8 p.m. on election night Aug. 2. Two drop boxes on South Whidbey can be found at Ken’s Korner and Trinity Lutheran Church in Freeland.
Ballots must be postmarked no later than election day.
