Santa Claus is coming to South Whidbey, although he won’t be as mobile as in years past.
Instead of a parade through the different neighborhoods, kids can catch a glimpse of the big jolly red guy at the Bayview Station.
The drive-thru style event is 5:30-7:30 p.m. this Thursday and Friday, and 4:30-7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Families will be able to drive through the station’s parking lot and view Santa atop his sleigh from afar.
Deputy Chief Terry Ney explained that doing things this way will help ensure a controlled environment, since there can’t be close interaction because of the virus.
Mrs. Claus is the newest addition this year.
