Boys hoops drop two games

Two more games slipped through the fingers of South Whidbey High School's boys basketball team Friday and Saturday as the team fell to 0-17 in season standings.

Though one of the better scoring games for the team with junior Tim Gabelein scoring a season-high 33 points, the Falcons were unable to keep pace with the Tigers. Josh Nehf scored 11 points in the game. Sophomore Brandon Turner was also in double figures with 10.Saturday’s away game at Mount Baker High School also kept the Falcons grounded. Tim Gabelein again led all Falcon scorers, sinking 16, but South Whidbey lost the contest 62-45. Josh Coleman was the only other big point producer for the Falcons, scoring 9 points.The Falcons ended their season Tuesday night at home against Nooksack Valley. That game took place after The Record’s press deadline for Wednesday’s edition. Results will appear in Saturday’s paper. “
