Boeing officials confirmed Friday afternoon that Clinton resident Ricky E. Wilson died in Wednesday’s crash of Turkish Airlines Flight 1951 in Amsterdam.

“On behalf of myself and my family, I would like to thank you for your best wishes and prayers for Ricky,” his wife, Terry Wilson, said in a statement released by Boeing.

“We appreciate the continuation of those prayers, not only for my husband and our family, but also his Boeing colleagues. At this time, my family and I are requesting privacy from the media so our family and friends can grieve Ricky’s death,” the statement said.

There were 127 passengers on board Flight Number TK 1951 from Istanbul to Amsterdam, the capital of The Netherlands, at the time of the crash, and 50 people were injured.

Wilson was one of four Boeing Co. engineers on the Boeing 737-800. The crash killed eight other people, including the three pilots of the airliner, a flight attendant and five passengers.
