Before the Langley City Council can pick a new mayor, it has to meet to review the selection rules.
Langley’s five-member council will appoint a new mayor to replace Larry Kwarsick, who resigned following a plea agreement with Island County Prosecutor Greg Banks for falsifying a public document. A special meeting was called so the council members can review the rules for appointing an interim mayor who will serve until the general election in November.
The council will meet at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13 at City Hall.
