The Island County Public Works Department is hosting an open house in Freeland today to explain roadway improvements on Woodard Road.

The meeting will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at Grigware Hall in Trinity Lutheran Church. People can drop by and look through the right-of-way and construction plans and discuss the project with county staff.

The county is looking at roadway improvements on Woodard Road that would stretch south from Highway 525. The work would include widening the travel lanes and adding paved roadway shoulders.
