Couple celebrates 65 years of marriage

William and Loretta Lasley will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on April 9.

William and Loretta Lasley will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary on April 9.

The couple was married in Baltimore, Md. in 1943 after having met at the Glenn Martin

Aircraft Company

in the department of national defense.

Bill Lasley served in World War II in the Air Corps. After the war, they moved to Boulder, Colo. where Lasley worked for the Rocky Flats Atomic Energy Corporation for

23 years.

After retiring in 1980, the couple moved to Whidbey Island in 1987.

They are the parents of William C. Lasley, II (Sandra) of Freeland, and Darla Duchessa, also of Freeland.

The Lasleys are also the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A family gathering is planned to celebrate the auspicious day.
