A car accident left two vehicles with hefty damages Tuesday.
Just after 3 p.m., Nov. 12, a driver in a white Chevrolet pickup failed to slow down enough at the intersection of Highway 525 and Cultus Bay Road, near Kens Korner, according to police.
Three vehicles were stopped at the intersection heading northbound on the highway.
The driver of the pickup rear-ended a stopped vehicle and caused a fender-bender for the two vehicles in front of it. Four vehicles in total were damaged. No major injuries were reported.
The highway was briefly backed up as the drivers moved their vehicles into a nearby parking lot.
Lieutenant Evan Tingstad with the Island County Sheriff’s Office said it was a case of the driver not paying attention and following too close to the vehicles ahead. Tingstad said a ticket will be issued for following too close, driving with no insurance and driving with a suspended license.
