Soroptimist International of South Whidbey Island is accepting grant applications through Sept. 30.

Community organizations requesting grant funding should submit a letter of application including the name of the organization, the contact person, the address, phone number, and the purpose of the grant application funding request. All applications will be reviewed for merit and all applicants will be notified of the response to their application.

The Soroptimist of South Whidbey chapter will be holding its first grant awards, for the 2011-2012 club year, Thursday, Nov. 17.

The Soroptimist of South Whidbey is the local club of an international organization dedicated to enhancing the lives of women and girls in the community and throughout the world.
