Those interested in future development rules for Freeland will have a chance to weigh in at a community meeting next week.

The meeting is from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 21 at Whidbey Water Services, 5585 Lotto Ave.

Island County is in the midst of updating its comprehensive plan, and part of that process is developing zoning and land-use regulations to implement the Freeland Subarea Plan. Island County Planning and Community Development staff is holding the meeting to provide a brief overview of the process, answer questions and collect community feedback.

According to a recent news release, it will be the first of several planned public meetings to discuss the new regulations.
