Shopping in Langley may be a bit easier this year following a collaborative effort by city and business leaders.

The “Here for You” program, a joint effort by the city, Chamber of Commerce and Langley Main Street Association, is a communications project designed to better connect consumers with city merchants through the publication of useful information.

“Many people see Langley as a charming tourist destination, which it is,” said Mayor Fred McCarthy, in a news release. “But, it is also a thriving business community with a broad spectrum of interesting and unusual retail stores and places to eat and drink.”

The chamber designed a brochure that lists the summer days and hours that Langley businesses are open. It’s available to download on all three of the organization’s websites and at many overnight accommodations in the area.

Participating businesses are also putting “Here for You” signs in their windows above the store’s regular summer business hours.

Lorinda Kay, program manager for Langley Main Street, said it is a simple program that lets tourists and visitors alike know their business is both wanted and appreciated.
