Easter egg hunts set for Saturday and Sunday

  • The annual Dan Porter Park Easter egg hunt kicks off the Easter tradition at 10 a.m. Saturday, a free event for boys and girls from babies up to age 12. More than 6,000 plastic eggs will be filled with candy and other surprises, and as many as 400 youngsters are expected.

    Donations account for 100 percent of the cost of candy and prizes to fill the 6,000-plus plastic eggs. For more information contact Staci Hull, 341-2562, or Mariko Twomey, 341-1362.

  • On Easter Sunday, the American Legion Auxiliary’s Easter Breakfast will fortify egg hunters and their families beginning at 10 a.m. The egg hunt will begin at noon, and the auxiliary expects hundreds to attend the festivities.The Legion post is on Highway 525 near Bayview.
  • Trinity Lutheran Church will send kids out to search for eggs at 10:15 a.m. Sunday, during the church’s festive Easter celebration.
  • At St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Clinton Easter Sunday, an egg hunt will be held at 9:45 a.m. following a breakfast social in the hall at 9 a.m.
  • The Holmes Harbor Rod & Gun Club will not hold an Easter egg hunt this year.
