“The escaped wolf hybrid shot by a Sheriff’s deputy Jan. 28 will likely cost its owner some money.Island County Animal Control Office Carol Barnes said Tuesday the animal’s owner, Dean Petrich, has been charged with two violations of the Island County Code.The first violation, allowing a dangerous animal to be at large, includes a fine of up to $750. The second violation is for allegedly having three unlicensed dogs — one hybrid wolf and two domestics — on his property. That charge could result in a $150 fine.Rascal, an 11-year-old hybrid that was about 75 percent wolf, escaped from the Petrich property on Jan. 24 when the gate on its pen was left open. A search for the animal ended Jan. 28 when it was shot and killed by a deputy. “
