Feedback needed for Island County comp plan

Island County is seeking community feedback for the county’s updates to the comprehensive plan, and has organized four community meetings across the county to gauge the public’s views of the updates. The South Whidbey community meeting is slated for 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at the South Whidbey High School Commons.

Island County is seeking community feedback for the county’s updates to the comprehensive plan, and has organized four community meetings across the county to gauge the public’s views of the updates.

The South Whidbey community meeting is slated for 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 11 at the South Whidbey High School Commons.

Other meetings have been set up at Coupeville Rec Hall, Elks Lodge in Oak Harbor and Utsalady Elementary on Camano Island.

The comprehensive plan is the county’s framework for growth over the next 20 years. The 2016 update primarily focuses on improving the document’s readability, updating the content to reflect the county’s current goals and constructing a new process for future updates to the plan.
